Employment

eBook Architect

With the growing popularity of the Amazon Kindle, the B&N nook, and the Apple iPad, the eBook market has seen a huge surge in public interest, and an even larger increase in author and publisher focus. eBook sales have been skyrocketing, with sales in the last quarter of 2009 surpassing sales in the entire year of 2008.

eBook Architects, the leading eBook conversion company helping independent authors and small publishers, is looking for entry-level HTML developers to convert and format eBooks. These eBook developers should have the following skills:

  • The ability to hand-code clean HTML and CSS

  • Detail oriented and able to follow instructions easily

  • Ability to manage time and work individually

  • Regular Expressions and/or scripting skills are a plus

  • Please note that we do not use WYSIWYG Editors. All formatting is done by hand-coding clean HTML and CSS, and running proprietary scripts

This is a position of POTENTIAL. While eBook Architects is over 2 years old, hiring full-time employees with benefits is not feasible as we expand to fill the immediate increased demand for file conversions. As such, this is a contract-to-hire position, and we hope to offer full-time employment with benefits to qualified contractors later in the year. Only serious individuals who are looking for this type of opportunity are encouraged to apply.

This is an entry level position, and a perfect opportunity to join a solid small business in a rapidly-growing and far-reaching market.

Hourly rate: $12 (non-negotiable)

Hours per week: 40 (full time)

Schedule: Regular business hours. Somewhat flexible after initial training. No Saturdays.

This is not a work-from-home position. You must be able to work in our office.

If you want to take advantage of this opportunity,

don’t send us a resume, send us a reason.
